Hits (Liquid Lipsticks)

Standard

The final HIT Product of the week is Liquid Lipsticks.  I will be starting Products I wont buy / Flops soon.

But today lets talk about Liquid lipstick, lately these lipsticks have blow everyone’s mind. I only knew Limecrime who used to sell these and then suddenly other companies started selling these.

As you all know I love purple, I was on a hunt for a perfect purple for a really long time. Then finally I found it at IMATS. And the funny part was I wasn’t planning on going to IMATS this year but then last min I just booked the tickets and went lol.

Anyways coming back to Liquid lipstick’s I was really obsessed with it when I got the Limecrime’s Red Velvet liquid lipstick but couldn’t find other colour’s with that formula and finally when I saw it at IMATS I went Super CRAZY. I just had to pick it up 😀 😀 😀

Surrealist

But here I am actually talking about the texture of Liquid lipstick, when applied it looks like a gloss but dries matte. And they are super stay on. Until you eat some oily food, otherwise you don’t have to touch up your lipstick let’s say its KISS PROOF 😉

As mentioned many companies are selling these lipstick’s few to name is Anastasia Beverly hills, Coloured Raine, Dose of Colour, and of course Cailyn.

Have you girls tried this, if you do plan on let me know ❤

Hits (Highlighter)

Standard

I have been waiting to talk about highlighter’s for sooo long. I don’t mind if I don’t contour but I need to highlight, I need that disco ball glow as it makes your skin look fresh like you have a healthy glow from within 😀

The best so far is Kiko eyeshadow number 208. Thanks to my sister for sending it to me all the way from LONDON.

Kiko eyeshadow 208

It’s also known to be a dupe of MAC cosmetics Whisper of Guilt. How true is that I am not sure as I haven’t used it. But it still didn’t stop me to try the dupe lol. I instantly fell in love with it. Most of the times when I used highlighter they always looked so chalky on me, then I thought what if I wet the brush and apply it as a wet eyeshadow.  And it made me look like a disco ball (not that I am complaining). Only if this song  ‘SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND’ had released that time lol.

The next one I want to try is Makeup for Ever’s pro sculpting duo. Have heard amazing things about it.

So do you have a favorite highlighter? Do share in the comments below would love to hear it 🙂

Hits (Foundation)

Standard

Today’s HIT Product is Foundation.

I normally do not like Drug store foundation cause they don’t have more colour options and it never matches the Indian skin tones, as it has pink tones in it.

But the Loreal infallible foundation its completely different, It has yellow tones in it and also is Demi matte. The only issue is that if you have a dry complexion this foundation can be really really dry for you. But if you are oily or combination skin you will love it. It sets quickly like a powder finish. It stay’s matte at least for 6 hours or little more but not 24 hours. I normally do not set it with powder as it’s not required but if you want you can depending on how matte you want your look to be. You need to set it really fast or else you may find it looking patchy or flaky in some area.

So I am in the colour Fresh beige, you can say a mix between MAC’s NC40 + NC30. But I do find it looking grey around my chin. I think its because I have uneven skin tone. And I need to mix foundations to get an even colour.

L’oreal Infallible 24 Hours Foundation.

Do you think you will give this foundation a try, I advice you do as its the Best for Summer and also easy on the pocket.

And if you do try it or have tried it let me know.

Hits (Primers)

Standard

Today I will be talking about Primers – Eye and Face.

Many ask me this question if its important to have an additional product in your makeup routine. My answer is yes because it helps your makeup to last long and fresh.

How many of you have had issues with your foundation oxidizing and eyeshadow creasing. But with the use of a primer your eyeshadow wont crease and your natural oils will be at bay which will also not oxidize your foundation.

My favorite eye and face primer is the same as its been always. I had also mentioned it in my Two things I cant live without.

Its Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer and Benefits POREfessional face primer. porefessionalud-eyeshadow-potion

The POREfessional primer – helps to reduce the appearance of pores and mattifies the skin. It gives a clean canvas for you to work on.

And the Urban Decay Eye primer – This primer keeps your eye shadow crease-free while making color more vibrant and providing a smoother application.

Have you tried any primers? Do you have a favorite?

Do you have any other questions with regards to primers, let me know.

Hits ( Eye Lashes and Glue)

Standard

I know I said I will be speaking about primers today, but I thought let me finish with the eye’s 1st.

If you know me you know I love FULL ON GLAM. But when I go out to the mall / walk etc the only thing I don’t put are my lashes. I normally put false lashes on occasions. Most of the times I get asked if I am going for a party or prom even without my lashes LOL 😉

So my favorite lashes are anything that are thick and full. That’s why this time when I went to IMATS I added Velour and Esqido Lashes (I am still to try them) and the another important thing is lash glue obviously or how will you stick your lashes on. I picked up a vegan lash glue.

Eyelashes – So far I have loved House of lashes, because of their thin band it easily bends to the shape of the eye. Their different style’s look so fierce but they are wearable and wont make you look super dramatic. If you have been following me you know my favorite ones are Temptress, Sirens and Tigress. I know by adding Velour and Esqido to the list my favorite’s will be growing soon. House of Lashes aka HOL speaks for them self. It is one of the favorite brands for most makeup artists.

True Glue had followed me long long time back on facebook and I always wanted to try it so this time they came to IMATS Vancouver and without thinking twice I got it. The reason being is they are super natural or vegan you can say. It don’t smell like fish tho it takes little longer to get tacky but it stays put and doesn’t budge coz it doesn’t irritates the eye. I used to use Duo lash glue in dark. It smells horrible and my eyes would always water (because of Latex).

Why True glue you will ask me, its because of their ingredients such as chamomile, rosewater and biotin True Glue is actually beneficial for your skin and natural lashes! True glue is the first adhesive of its kind, it’s made from completely all natural ingredients that are actually good for your skin and lash growth. Dermatologist tested, latex free and not tested on animals. You wouldn’t knowingly eat harmful toxins, so stop ingesting them!

I feel every girl should try false lashes once in their life. I used to be like no ways am I going to wear lashes its so unnatural. But after I did, I saw my self in the mirror and said where have you been my whole life *shocked eyes*. It brings the whole look together.

So if you have ever thought of wearing falsies but had 2nd thoughts. Trust me think no more try it and you will be amazed 🙂

PS- I am not paid to do this review. But again I would like to thank True glue for featuring me on their instagram

Tomorrow for sure I will be speaking about primers. ❤

Hits (Favorite Product) Eyebrow

Standard

I am back with the 2nd Favorite product, as I mentioned yesterday its the most amazing waterproof eyebrow product.

Its the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow (Pomade) Its creamy constancy which helps build and fill in your eyebrows. I personally didn’t know how much of a difference groomed filled-in eyebrows make to complete the look. I used to use lip pencils to fill in my eyebrows and to be honest it looked horrible, it made me look like a devil lol.

eyebrow

The above picture I have actually put in few options depending on what look you like. The Makeup forever and Anastasia dipbrow is a gel / pomade type consistency and the Anastasia brow wiz is a pencil / crayon. The Gel helps to draw in helping you to give the hair like effect if you have a bald spot where as the pencil just helps you fill in place where you have sparse hair.

On days where I like to have a full on glam makeup I used the gel and for simple morning look I used the brow wiz. In the picture above I have used the Anastasia dip brow.

I use the Morphe S25 brush (mentioned in my last post) and sketched my eyebrow and draw on my bald spot like I was mimicking the eyebrow hair (you can not see it as the pigmentation is amazing and no matter what you do it will not budge)

The size of this product is 4.0g / 0.14oz. You can use this for life as little goes a long way. So if you ask if its worth the hype then my answer will be YES.

My next favorite that I will talk about is primers.

Cya tomorrow.

Hits (Favorite Products)

Standard

I am going to be doing 1 favorite product a day for one week starting today. Will be giving some tip and tricks and why I love this particular product. After this I will be doing Flop Products.

Also I am a person who doesn’t follow the herd, I do my own research before I spend money on a particular product. I also want to add that I am not being paid to do this post so I am going to be totally frank when I say why I love the product.

I will be start with eyes and then face and then lips, so my 1st favorite product is

The Morphe S25 Angle liner / Spoolie brush (Eyebrow brush)

This brush is used to help define your eyebrows and it is also a dual sided synthetic brush. The reason why I love this brush is because its bristles are packed together which helps you to create a thin line when using a cream / gel. The spoolie helps you to brush your eyebrow hair up and also remove excess product while applying the product to the eyebrow. This brush actually does the job for you 🙂 (just try to have a steady hand and you will get the best result)

You can get this brush (and many other amazing affordable brushes) on their website. I had the chance to go to IMATS this year and last year so I saved lots on shipping. But even with shipping their products are totally worth it. Its cheaper than MAC but similar to MAC.

I am sure many of you must have noticed some parts of your eyebrows have a bald spot or sparse hair (like me). Tomorrow I will talk about my 2nd favorite product that gives you amazing eyebrows and is also water proof.

Hello My Diva’s

I know its been really long time that I connected with you all. I was just busy with school and I recently graduated as a Hairstylist (Cosmetologist) Yaaaay!!

School was amazing gained so much information and so much to feed inside this little brain, but at the same time it was exhausting. I could hardly make time for me that’s why I was MIA for so long.

But I am back now and hopefully no more distractions. I am going to start blogging again and maybe try to post every Friday.

If you girls would like me to address something or need advices do let me know in the comments below.

Basic Information about Makeup

Standard

I know a lot of people think makeup is basically caking your face with zillion products, so we can fool people by making them think we are beautiful. Sorry, but that’s not true… Makeup is basically enhancing certain features. And once you know what your face is looking for, few products can do the trick.

The main thing about Makeup is knowing your skin tone and choosing the right type of foundation / concealer for your skin.

Now you will ask how can I know what’s my skin tone type, well look no further and keep reading.

1) Check Your Veins
Push your sleeves up right now and look at the veins on the inside of your wrist.  Are they blue or green? If they look more blue, you likely have cool undertones. If the veins look greenish, you’re warm. It’s worth noting, warm girls, that you’re veins aren’t actually green—they look it because you’re seeing them through yellow-toned skin (yellow + blue = green.). It could also be you are neutral and your skin is neither pink/red/blue nor yellow/gold/peach, but somewhere in between.

You have a “cool” undertone if:
• If the veins on your wrist are blue or purple
• If silver jewelry flatters your skin more than gold
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears blue-ish

You have a “neutral” undertone if:
• The veins on your wrist are blue-green
• Both gold and silver jewelry flatter your skin
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears greenish

You have a “warm” undertone if:
• The veins on your wrist are slightly green or olive
• Gold jewelry flatters your skin more than silver
• When you look at your skin in the sun, it appears yellowish

2) Know the Colour Wheel

As this will help you decide what colour will compliment your skin and which problem areas would you like to conceal.

warm-cool-color-wheel

So basically opposite colour in the wheel will help you decide what you would like to cover up or conceal. For instance If you have to cover a really dark eye circle or pigmentation (normally Blue or Blue Voilet) it can be first corrected with an orange corrector and then apply the right shade of concealer which matches your skin tone. Same goes with any redness or acne marks can be corrected with green (if you look at the colour wheel you can see Red’s opposite is Green).

Easy way to remember – Red + Green = Christmas

Yellow + Violet = Easter

Blue + Orange = No Holidays.

So the 1st step in knowing the right makeup is knowing what you/r skin is looking to correct without making it look Ashy / Cakey/ Grey etc

Hope this lesson helps and if you want more advices on something similar do comment 🙂

Till next time

Buying Cosmetics Online

Standard

I’m sure all of you must have bought something or the other online. But some may think if its safe or not or is it just hyped for no reason.

I have personally bought some makeup online as it wasn’t available in Dubai and the major brands which are used by a lot of Makeup artist or regular people are from USA , Canada , UK.

I first started by giving Ebay a try, and it really worked well as you could shop by pay pall (which helps safe online shopping). Then I started experimenting on other sites and it worked really well too. (I will post some of my favorite sites at the end of this post)

When I post my makeup photo’s  I use most of the products I have bought from these sites and I do get questions asking to why don’t I put the details of products which are available in Dubai? To be honest the price I get online + the shipping is still cheaper than buying an eyeshadow palette, lipstick, blush etc from MAC and if you are not a Makeup Artist you do not get MAC pro discount. (During that time I was not certified as a makeup artist, so I found good cosmetics but cheaper on the pocket).

So I hope I have answered your questions. But if you still have any more do let me know and I will be happy to answer them.

As promised few of my favorite sites I love to shop from.

1) http://www.thebodyneeds2.com (This was the first site I ever bought from as they sell sample size products which you can test and if you like it can go an buy those full size products from store)

2) http://limecrime.com/ (Super Pigment lipsticks)

3) http://morphebrushes.com/ (Their eyeshadow palettes are super super pigmented and amazing, their makeup brushes as so affordable and similar to MAC)

4) http://houseoflashes.com/ (Amazing affordable lashes for all eye types)

5) http://www.shophudabeauty.com/  ( if you are looking for something local for lashes )

6) http://anastasiabeverlyhills.com/ (For all your eyebrow / contouring needs. Now they have amazing eyeshadow palettes + lipsticks)

7) http://www.alshop.com/health-beauty/make-up (Another amazing local online site,If you don’t have a credit card and would still like to buy the best cosmetics you have Alshop which allows you to pay by cash)

I hope this helps.

Till next time

xoxo
